A Message of Support from Pride In Diversity

As Australia’s first and only not-for-profit employer support program for all aspects of LGBTI workplace inclusion, Pride in Diversity is proud to support the Australian Ally Conference to be held at Western Sydney University’s Parramatta campus this coming June.

Ally Networks at Australian Universities were created to provide a more diverse and inclusive culture by promoting awareness of LGBTI staff and students and their experiences throughout the University and the wider community.  Given the particular influence University and tertiary education institutions play in shaping community relations, attitudes and experiences for and toward the LGBTI community, it is important that Allies are provided with the training and support necessary to develop a successful, cohesive network and that there is a consistent approach to LGBTI inclusion across the higher education sector in Australia – something that will be explored at this Conference.

The Australian Ally Conference promises to be a pioneering event that will bring together the Ally movement from across Australia to encourage better communication between Higher Education Ally Networks from Australia and explore best practice Ally Networks, the latest research in LGBTI acceptance and equality and many other associated topics.

We look forward to participating in this important Conference.
